Bilbao, March 12th, 2020.
The II Edition of the International Leadership Congress for Women in Football (LWF), scheduled to take place on March 26 and 27 at the San Mamés stadium in Bilbao, has been postponed to take place in the same location in autumn. The organization behind the event has been forced to make this decision before the change of health alert scenario and after the WHO declared a global pandemic due to the Covid-19 virus outbreak. In permanent contact with public and private institutions involved in the implementation of this international congress, and following the recommendations of the health authorities, this decision has been made as we believe it is necessary to help stop the expansion of the coronavirus.
We apologize in advance to those who feel hurt by this forced change of dates. We ask the speakers and those who have registered to participate in this meeting on women in football, that we work from today to maintain and improve, if possible, the interest in the event. To achieve this, we count on all the people who were scheduled to attend the congress this month in March, to participate, if possible in their part, in the LWF 2020 event next autumn in the San Mamés stadium, on a date to be specified and which will be announced in the coming days. The organization will be in contact with all the people affected by this forced change in the dates and we will attend to all your requirements.
We appreciate the demonstration of support and understanding that we have received from public and private institutions and entities that support LWF 2020: Athletic Club – San Mamés Stadium, venue of the congress; the Diario AS, as media partner; sponsors: BBK; Ayuntamiento de Bilbao; Diputación Foral de Bizkaia; Grupo QuirónSalud; AXA Exclusiv; Fit & Soul; Sport Business Institute; SportIn Global; Gran Hotel Domine; Azul Marino Viajes; Sertisa – DS Salon Bilbao; Pepe Pinreles, and collaborators: You First Sports; Trex Exploring; Olyusei; Rituals and Moonwater.
